محمد بن عبد الرحمن القيقيّ، أبو عبد الرحمن (٦). هو منسوب إلى القيقاء (٧)، من أهل مصر، وكانوا جماعة من أفناء القبائل. كان أحد الفضلاء النّبلاء، وأعيان الأئمة العلماء. وهو صاحب التاريخ المشهور (٨)، وله كتاب الوسيلة إلى درك الفضيلة، وكتاب سيرة العزيز (٩)، وكتاب أدب الشهادة، وكان خصيصا بالعزيز، وله عليه رزقوإقطاعات. وقال ابن زولاق (١): لما عمل التاريخ قطع له العزيز ما كان له عليه، وقبض إقطاعه، وأمره بلزوم داره، فكان على ذلك إلى أن مات في سنة أربع وثمانين وثلاث مائة.
