محمد بن يحيى بن عليّ بن مسلم الزّبيديّ، أبو عبد الله الحنفيّ (٤). من أهل زبيد، قدم بغداد سنة تسع وخمس مائة ووعظ، وكان له معرفة بالنّحو واللّغة والأدب، وصحب عون الدّين يحيى بن هبيرة قبل الوزارة. وقد صنّف الزّبيديّ عدة تصانيف، منها: كتاب الاقتضاء ومنهاج الاقتفاء (٥)، وكتاب الردّ على ابن الخشّاب، وكتاب العروض، وكتاب المقدّمة في النّحو، وكتاب في الحساب (٦)، وغير ذلك. وكانت وفاته في شهر ربيع/٢٠/ الآخر من سنة خمس وخمسين وخمس مائة، ودفن بمقبرة باب الشام (٧).
