محمَّد بن نصر، أبو عبد الله، المَرْوَزِي، الإِمام. كذا في النسخة المطبوعة من "المستدرك" (٤/ ٨٣): حدثنا محمَّد بن نصر أبو عبد الله الإِمام المروزي ثنا أبو الأشعث أحمد بن المقدام. والذي يبدوا أن ثمة سقط في السند، فإن أبا الأشعث توفي سنة ثلاث وخمسين ومائتين، وتلميذه محمَّد بن نصر الإِمام المروزي توفي سنة، أربع وتسعين ومائتين أي قبل ولادة الحاكم بسبع وعشرين سنة فإنالحاكم ولد سنة إحدى وعشرين وثلاثمائة، والله المستعان.
