    محمَّد بن علي بن الحسين، أبو بكر، المُذّكر، المؤدب، النَّيْسابُوري.سمع: أبا خليفة القاضي، وبابويه بن خالد، وعبدان الأهوازي. وعنه: أبو عبد الله الحاكم. وقال في "تاريخه": أبو بكر المذكر شيخ لحي صالح، كان يؤدب في سكة عيسى بن ماسرجس، ويُذَكِّر في المسجد وغير موضع، سمع أبا خليفة القاضي، وبابويه بن خالد، وعبدان الأهوازي وغيرهم، كتبنا عنه قديمًا، ثم عمر بعد ذلك، وتوفي بعد "الأربعين" والثلاثمائة، وقبل الخمسين بلا شك. قلت: [صدوق واعظ]. "مختصر تاريخ نيسابور" (٥٢/ أ)، "الأنساب" (٥/ ١٢٥).
