    [٧٢١] محمَّد بن أحمد بن جعفر، أبو بكر، المؤدب، الأَزْدي، الهَرَوي. سمع: أبا بكر محمَّد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة، وطبقته. وعنه: أبو عبد الله الحاكم. ترجمه الذهبي في "تاريخه"، وقال: كان مجاهدًا متعبِّدَا خيرًا، توفي بهراة، سنة ثلاث وسبعين وثلاثمائة. قال مقيده -عفا الله عنه-: كذا في "تاريخ الإِسلام" ولعله الآتي، والله أعلم. قلت: [صدوق عابد غزّاء]. "تاريخ الإِسلام" (٢٦/ ٥٤٧).
