[٦٨٦] قيس بن طلحة بن أحمد، أبو مازن، الفارسي. سمع بشيراز: محمد بن جعفر صاحب أبي كريب. وعنه: أبو عبد الله الحاكم.ترجمه الذهبي في "تاريخه" ووصفه بالكاتب، وقال: روى عنه الحاكم في "تاريخه"، ثم ذكر أنه توفي سنة ثلاث وسبعين وثلاثمائة. قلت: [مستور]. "مختصر تاريخ نيسابور" (٤٧/ ب)، "تاريخ الإسلام" (٢٦/ ٥٤٦).
