٥٢٢ - محمد بن أحمد بن ثعلب المصري. شهر بابن كشتغدي القاضي مدرس المالكية بمصر، أحد شيوخ ابن مرزوق الخطيب قال في مشيخته: قرأت عليه بمنزله جملة مختصرة، وشرحه علىابن الحاجب الفرعي ولم يكمله، وجملة وافرة من الطرر للفقيه سند، ومن شرحه لمختصر أبي الحسن الطليطلي الذي ألفه باقتراح الأمير موسى سلطان مالي ملك السودان. وكان من أحسن الناس سيرة و [أطعمهم] للطعام وأشهرهم تواضعًا، له كلام مستعذب في التصوف، وقلمه أفصح من لسانه- اهـ.
