١١٣ - أحمد بن العجل الوزر والي قاضي مدينة الجديدة (١). قال الإمام أحمد زروق في كناشته: هو زوج جدتي تزوجته سنة خمس أو ست وخمسين فأقامت معه ثلاثة أشهر ثم توفي بالوباء، حدثتني أنه كان يختم القرآن كل أسبوع، وكان يعيد صلاته التي صلاها حين كان قاضي المحلة احتياطًا للنجاسة والعزوبة، وذكرت عنه أمورًا من الخير، والغالب عليه النحو وكان متصوفًا، وكتب له عبد اللَّه بن أحمد في كتاب: أقلل من علم الظاهر فإنه يقسي القلب. قلت: يعني بما يعرض فيه لا بذاته. توفي سنة ست وخمسين وثمانمائة -اهـ- كلام زروق، ونقل عنه في المعيار.
