    ٣٩٥٣ - المتعزّز بالله أبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن الوليد بن عبد الملك بن مروان الامويّ الخليفة بدمشق. (٢) ذكره الحافظ أبو القاسم بن عساكر في تاريخ دمشق وقال: بويع له بالخلافة بعد أخيه يزيد بن [الوليد بن] عبد الملك في ذي الحجّة سنة ست وعشرين ومائة، قيل إنّ أخاه عهد إليه وقيل لم يعهد إليه، واستولى بغير عهد، وخلع نفسه في يوم الاثنين رابع عشر صفر سنة سبع وعشرين ومائة، قيل: إنّه مكث أربعين ليلة ثمّ خلع، وقيل: مكث سبعين ليلة، وكان طويلا جسيما أبيض جميلا خفيف مقدّم اللحية والعارضين، ولم يزل حيّا إلى سنة اثنتين وثلاثين ومائة وقتل في الخازر (٣) مع مروان بن محمّد.
