٢٥٦٦ - فريد العصر أبو مضر محمود بن جرير الضبّي الأديب الطبيب (١). ذكره الفاضل ياقوت الحمويّ، في كتاب «معجم الادباء» وأثنى عليه وقال: كان يلقب فريد العصر وذكره محمود بن محمد بن عباس بن أرسلان في «تاريخ خوارزم» وقال: كان لعمري فريد زمانه كما لقّب، وكان علاّمة في النحو واللغة والطبّ وعنه أخذ الزمخشري علم الإعراب، وللزمخشري في مدح أبي مضر: وقائلة ما هذه الدر التي ... تساقطها عيناك سمطين سمطين فقلت هو الدر الذي قد حشا به ... أبو مضر أذني تساقط من عيني وتوفي بمرو سنة سبع وخمسمائة.
