٢٣٨٥ - فخر الدين أبو المعالي محمد بن علي بن داود بن علي البصري الكاتب.كان من أعيان الكتاب العارفين بفنون الآداب، رأيت له رسائل فصيحة تشتمل على معان صحيحة، ومن كلامه: «ولما خلا منصب الوزارة ممّن ينظر فيه ويتكفّل بالمهم من أمره ويكفيه وينهض بأعباء المهام ويستمر على المناصحة في كل مقام فألفاك يا فلان الدين الجامع لهذه الخلال الحميدة والطرائق الرشيدة» منها: «فأحلّك من أوفى الرتب محلّها واختار لك من المناصب أكملها وأجلها».
