١٨٨٦ - فتى العرب أبو محمد عبد العزيز بن زرارة بن جزء الكلابيّ الشاعر. (٥)[هو] عبد العزيز بن زرارة بن جزء بن عمرو بن عوف بن كعب بن أبي بكر بن كلاب بن ربيعة بن عامر بن صعصعة بن معاوية بن بكر بن هوازن بن منصور بن عكرمة بن خصفة بن قيس عيلان. كان فارسا كريما وكان معاوية يسميه «فتى العرب (١)» وخرج عبد العزيز مع يزيد بن معاوية بن أبي سفيان غازيا الى بلد الروم فمات، وكتب يزيد بنعيّه، فورد الكتاب إلى معاوية وزرارة عنده فقال له: يا زرارة إنّ في هذا الكتاب موت فتى للعرب، يقال: هو ابنك يا أمير المؤمنين! أو ابني. فقال معاوية: هو ابنك عبد العزيز فأعظم الله عليه أجرك.
