    ٦٦٠ - عفيف الدين أبو العباس أحمد بن علي بن بدر بن عليان، يعرف بابن الحمل البغدادي الأصولي. قدم علينا مراغة في أيام مولانا السعيد نصير الدين أبي جعفر وكان أصحابنا يداعبونه، وابن الحمل الذي ينتسب اليه هو جدّه من قبل امّه، وهو الذي كان قد ضمن بعض النواحي في أيام الوزير مؤيد الدين محمد (٢) ابن القصاب فانكسر عليه جملة من المال فوكل به في جواره بدرب المطبخ (٣) وجاء بعض أصحابه وسأله عن حاله فقال: كيف حال ابن الحمل وقد وكل به ابن القصاب في درب المطبخ؟ فلما سمع الوزير ذلك أخرجه. وكان عفيف الدين كريم الأخلاق وحصل شيئا في الكلام والنحو وغيره ومات سنة أربع وثمانينوستمائة (١).
