(٢) كان من الامراء الفضلاء، أرباب الشجاعة والدهاء، ولأجله صنّف أبو العلاء المعريّ كتاب «اللاّمع العزيزي» في شرح شعر أبي الطيب المتنبي [ومدحه الأمير أبو الفتح بن أبي حصينة المعري الشاعر المشهور بقصيدة مطلعها: لو أنّ دارا أخبرت عن ناسها ... لسألت رامة عن ظباء كناسها ومنها:أمّا نزار كلّها فكريمة ... لكنّ أكرمها بنو مرداسها (١)]
