٣٥١ - عزّ الدين أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن يوسف الجيلي الفقيه. كان فقيها عالما أديبا، كتب مجموعا له يشتمل على الحكايات والنوادر وغيرها، رأيته ونقلت منه «أهدى المعلى الى المعتز بالله مرآة، فقال له: كيف وقّعت على مرآة؟ قال: كلما رأيت وجهك فيها ذكرتني. فأمر له بمال. قيل للمسيح ﵇: لو دعوت الله تعالى أن يرزقك حمارا يوقيك ويحمل عنك رحلك. قال: أنا أكرم على الله أن يجعلني خادم حمار» (١).
