أبو الجود بن عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن عبد السلام بن أحمد البتروني الحلبي: مفتي الحنفية بحلب، انتقل إليها أبوه من البترون - قرب طرابلس بلبنان - سنة ٩٦٤ هـ، وبها ولد صاحب الترجمة وتعلم وصار صدر البلاد الحلبية ومفتيا ومدرسا. وكان بارعا في التفسير والفقه الحنفي. وولي قضاء القدس والمدينة. (١).
