يعقوب بن إسحاق، أبو يوسف، ابن السكيت: من أئمة اللغة والأدب. أصله من دورق بالأهواز، ويظن أنه ولد ببغداد. وبها تعلم، ورحل إلى البادية. أدب أبناء العامة ببغداد، ثم أبناء آل طاهر بسامرا، ثم اتصل بالمتوكل الفاسي، فعهد إليه بتأديب أولاده، وجعله في عداد ندمائه، ثم قتله لتشيعه. قيل: سأله عن ابنيه المعتز والمؤيد: أهما أحب إليه أم الحسن والحسين؟ فقال ابن السكيت: والله إن قنبرا خادم علي خير منك ومن ابنيك. فأمر الأتراك فداسوا بطنه،) وسلوا لسانه، وحملإلى داره فمات. من كتبه "غريب القرآن " (١). عاصمي [٩٠٨ - ١٠٠٣ هـ / ١٥٠٢ - ١٥٩٥ م]
