هشام بن عمار بن نصير بن ميسرة بن أبان السلمي، ويقال الظفري، أبو الوليد: خطيب دمشق ومقرئها ومحدثها ومفتيها، قاض، رحل في طلب العلم، وحدث عن مالك بن أنس والوليد بن مسلم وآخرين، وحدث عنه البخاري وأبو داود والنسائي وابن ماجه، وروى الترمذي عن البخاري عنه. قال في "تهذيب التهذيب": "كان مشتهرا بالعقل والفصاحة والرواية والعلموالدراية ..) له كتاب "فضائل القرآن" (١). الواسطي [١٠٤ - ١٨٣ هـ / ٧٢٢ - ٧٩٩ م]
