المطهر بن علي بن محمد بن علي بن حسن بن إبراهيم الضمدي اليماني، أبو محمد: مفسر، أديب، نحوي، من فقهاء الزيدية، من أهلا ضمد باليمن. من كتبه "الفرات النمير في تفسير الكتاب المنير" قال في البدر الطالع: "وهو تفسير مفيد جدا مع اختصاره، يدل على قوة ملكة صاحبه في العلوم، ورسوخ قدمه في فنون عدة" وقال المحبي: "وهو أجل مصنفاته أحسن فيه العبارات وجود فيه الرمز والإشارات، وقد حظي باليمن بالقبول عند الفحول ومدحه كثير من علمائه بالأشعار الرائقة والمدائح الفائقة ..
