محمد بن محمود بن محمد بن عياد السلماني، أبو عبد الله، شمس الدين الأصفهاني: قاض، مفسر، من فقهاء الشافعية، انتهت إليه الرياسة في معرفة الأصول والفقه. من أهل أصبهان، ولد وتعلم بها، وكان والده نائب السلطنة. ولما استولى العدو على أصبهان رحل إلى بغداد، ثم إلى الروم. ودخل الشام بعد سنة ٦٥٠ هـفولي قضاء منيج في أيام الناصر، ثم دخل مصر وولي قضاء قوص، فقضاء الكرك. وعاد إلى مصر فدرس بالصاحبية ومشهد الحسين، وتوفي بها. من آثاره "الجامع بين التفسير الكبير والكشاف" (١). النيسابوري [... - ٧٩١ هـ / ... - ١٣٨٩ م]
