محمد بن علي بن نصر بن أبي سعيد النوقاني، فخر الدين، أبو عبد الله، وأبو المفاخر: فقيه شافعي، مفسر، أصولي، منطقي، محدث، نسبته إلى نوقان - إحدى مدينتي طوس -. تفقه بنيسابور، ثم قدم بغداد وولي مدرسة أم الخليفة الناصر. قال ابن النجار:وأكثر الفقهاء من المدرسين ببغداد من الشافعية والحنابلة تلاميذه. وقال الصفدي: "له يد في التفسير والمنطق، مات ببغداد" (١). ابن عسكر [... - ٦٣٦ هـ / ... - ١٢٣٩ م]
