محمد بن عثمان بن محمد النجار، أبو عبد الله: فقيه مالكي، أصولي، محدث، مفسر، من أهل تونس، تعلم بجامع الزيتونة، ودرس. وأسندت إليه خطة العدالة سنة ١٢٧١ هـ ثم "الفتوى" سنة ١٣١٣ هـ واستمر إلى أن توفي. قال صاحب شجرة النور: "كان عالما بالأنساب، وتراجم المؤلفين، متبحرا في العلوم النقلية، إماما في العلوم: العقلية، له "تقريرات" على تفسير البيضاوي" (٢) السجستاني [... - ٣٣٠ / ... - ٩٤١ م]
