محمد بن عثمان بن مسبح الشيباني، أبو بكر، المعروف بالجعد: نحوي، لغوي، عالم بالقراءات والتفسير، من أهل بغداد. ووفاته في أكثر مصادر ترجمته سنة نيف و ٣٢٠ هـ. قال الزركلي: "وفي كتاب "الألقاب" مخطوط، لابن الفرضي: توفي في شهر رمضان من سنة ٢٨٨ هـ ودفن في باب السلام". من كتبه "معاني القرآن" و "غريب القرآن" و "ناسخ القرآن ومنسوخه" قال الخطيب البغدادي: "حدث به أبو بكر أحمد بن علي بن جعفر بن سلم عنه، وهو من أحسن الكتب وأجودها، (١). ابن أبي شيبة [.. - ٢٩٧ هـ / ... - ٩٠٩ م]
