محمد بن الحسن بن دريد الأزدي، أبو بكر: لغوي وشاعر، وهو صاحب "المقصورة الدريدية". ولد في البصرة، وقرأ على علمائها. وانتقل إلى عمان فأقام اثني عشر عاما، ثم سافر إلى جزيرة ابن عمر، ثم رحل إلىنواحي فارس فقلده "آل ميكال" ديوان فارس، ومدحهم "بالمقصورة" فوصلوه بعشرة آلاف درهم. ولما عزل آل ميكال رجع إلى بغداد، واتصل بالمقتدر العباسي فأجرى عليه في الشهر خمسين دينارا إلى أن مات. من كتبه "غريب القرآن" لم يكمله.
