محمد بن أشرف الحسيني السمرقندي، شمس الدين: عالم بالمنطق والفلك والهندسة، مفسر، من أهل سمرقند. قال في كشف الظنون: "له الصحائف" في التفسير، أتمهالشيخ أحمد بن محمود القرماني، الأصم المتوفى سنة ٩٧١ هـ (أنظر ترجمته في هذا المعجم). ثم ذكر له كتابا آخر باسم الصحائف وقال إنه في الكلام. وأرخ وفاة السمرقندي سنة ٦٠٠ هـ. وقال صاحب هدية العارفين: "له شرح على المقدمة البرهانية للنسفي، رأيته وفيه أنه فرغ منه سنة ٦٩٠ هـ ".
