علي بن عيسى بن داود ابن الجراح، أبو الحسن البغدادي الحسني: وزير، من العلماء الرؤساء، من أهل بغداد. فارسي الأصل، وزر للمقتدر بالله دفعتين، الأولى سنة ٣٠٠ هـ وعزل سنة ٣٠٤ هـ، والثانية سنة ٣١٤ هـ وعزل سنة ٣١٦ هـ. قال الصولي: "لا أعلم أنه وزر لبني العباس وزير يشبهه في زهده وعفته وحفظه للقرآن وعلمه بمعانيه، ولا أعلم أنني خاطبت أحدا أعرف منه بالشعر" أخباره كثيرة. له "معاني القرآن وتفسيره" أعانه عليه أبو الحسن الواسطي وأبو بكر بن مجاهد (١). الرماني [٢٩٦ - ٣٨٤ هـ / ٩٠٩ - ٩٩٤ م]
