علي بن أبي بكر بن عبد الجليل الفرغاني المرغيناني، أبو الحسن، برهان الدين: مفسر، حافظ، محدث، فرضي، من كبار فقهاء الحنفية في عصره. نسبته إلى مرغينان - مدينة في فرغانة -. ترجم له اللكنوي وأثنى عليه وقال: "عده ابن كمال باشا من المجتهدين في المذهب الحنفي". مات بسمرقند (١). ابن الحنائي [٩١٦ - ٩٧٩ هـ / ١٥١١ - ١٥٧١ م]
