عثمان بن سعيد بن عثمان بن سعيد بن عمر الأموي بالولاء، القرطبي، ويعرف بالداني، وبابن الصيرفي قديما، أبو عمرو: إمام في علم القرآن ورواياته وتفسيره ومعانيه وطرقه وإعرابه، عارف بالحديث وأسماء رجاله، كان إليه المنتهى في علم القراءات وإتقان القرآن، أصله من قرطبة، وسكن دانية فنسب إليها. رحل إلى المشرق سنة ٣٩٧ هـ، فدخل القيروان، ومكث بمصر سنة، وحج، ورجع إلى الأندلس سنة ٣٩٩ هـ، فأقام بقرطبة، ثم بسرقسطة، ثم استوطن دانية سنة ٤١٧ هـ حتى وفاته (٢).ابن الصلاح [٥٧٧ - ٦٤٣ هـ / ١١٨١ - ١٢٤٥ م]
