سهل بن إبراهيم بن سهل بن نوح بن عبد الله (بن جماز، ويعرف بالعطار)بن جماز، ويعرف بالعطار: نحوي، فقيه مالكي، عالم بمعاني القرآن والحديث، من أهل استجه، قال في تاريخ علماء الأندلس: "نسبه في البربر ويوالي بنى أمية، وكان فاضلا زاهدا، عاقلا ذكيا، عالما بمعاني القرآن، بصيرا بالمذاهب، حافظا للإعراب والحساب، مع الحديث ولزوم العبادة وإلانقباض" سمع بقرطبة، ودخل البيرة سنة ٣١٩ وسمع بها من محمد بن فطيس وغيره" ومات بها (١). التستري [٢٠٠ - ٢٨٣ هـ / ٨١٥ - ٨٩٦ م]
