إسماعيل بن عبد الرحمن بن أحمد بن إسماعيل بن إبراهيم الصابوني، أبو عثمان: محدث، مفسر، من كبار العلماء. ولد في بوشنج، وسمع بنيسابور والشام والحجاز، ودخل معرة النعمان فلقي بها أبا العلاء المعري. حدث بنيسابور، وخراسان إلى غزنة وبلاد الهند، وجرجان، وآمل، وطبرستان، وبالشام وبيت المقدس والحجاز. قال عبد الغافر الفارسي: "هو الإمام شيخ الإسلام الخطيب المفسر الواعظ، أوحد وقته في طريقته، وكان أكثر أهل العصر من المشايخ سماعا وحفظا ونشرا لمسموعاته وتصنيفاته وجمعا وتحريضا على السماع وإقامة مجالس الحديث" (١).النابلسي [١٠١٧ - ١٠٦٢ هـ / ١٦٠٨ - ١٦٥٢ م]
