أحمد بن محمد بن محمد بن حسن بن علي الشمني القسنطينى الأصل، الاسكندري، أبو العباس، تقي الدين: محدث، مفسر، نحوي، أصولي، متكلم، منفقهاء الحنفية. ولد بالاسكندرية، وقدم القاهرة مع والده - وكان من علماء المالكية - فأخذ عن كبار علمائها. أخذ عنه السيوطي وقال في حقه: شيخنا الإمام العلامة المفسر المحدث الأصولي المتكلم النحوي البياني: إمام النحاة في زمانه، وشيخ العلماء في أوانه، أما التفسير فهو بحره المحيط، وكشاف دقائقه بلفظه الوجيز الفائق على الوسيط والبسيط ...
