أحمد بن صالح بن محمد بن أحمد بن صالح المعروف بابن أبي الرجال: عالم زيدي، مشارك في التاريخ والتفسير والنحو والأصول والصرف والمعاني والبيان. من أهل صنعاء مولدا ووفاة. ولي القضاء، وأقرأ أولاد الإمام المهدي العباس بن الحسن، قال في البدر الطالع: "وارتفعت درجته عند الإمام، وكان يجالسه ويحادثه، ورفع منزلته حتى كان تارة بمنزلة الوزير وأخرى بمنزلة المشير ..
