الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى الْحُرَقَةِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ مَعِينٍ، وَسُئِلَ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، فَقَالَ: مُضْطَرِبُ الْحَدِيثِ، لَيْسَ حَدِيثُهُ بِحُجَّةٍ. وَسَمِعْتُهُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى يَقُولُ: هَؤُلَاءِ الْأَرْبَعَةُ لَيْسَ حَدِيثُهُمْ بِحُجَّةٍ: سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، وَالْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَعَاصِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، وَابْنُ عَقِيلٍ، فَقِيلَ لِيَحْيَى: فَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو؟ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ فَوْقَهُمْ١٣٧٠ -
