عمر بن عبد الرحيم بن عبد الرحمن بن الحسن بن عبد الرحمن الفقيه الإمام كمال الدين أبو هاشم بن العجمي الحلبي من بيت حشمة ورئاسة، تفقه على طاهر بن جميل، وسمع الحديث من يحيى الثقفي ودرس وأفتى، ويقال: إنه درس المهذب من حفظه خمسًا وعشرين مرة، وكان شديد الوسواس في الطهارة، ولم يزل كذلك حتى كان سبب هلاكه، وهو أنه دخل الحمام فدخل الجرارة ليستحم فيها فضاق نفسه وضعفت قواه، ومات ﵀ في حادي عشر رجب سنة اثنتين وأربعين وست مائة، وقد جاوز الثمانين.
