يحيى بن القاسم بن مفرج بن درع بن خضر الفقيه تاج الدين أبو زكريا الثعلبي التكريتي الشافعي تفقه على أبيه وسمع منه الحديث، ومن أبي الفتح بن البطي، وأبي النجيب السهروردي، وتفقه عليه ببغداد، وعلى أبي المحاسن بن بندار، وقرأ العربية على ابن الخشاب، وتقدم في العلم وساد وولي قضاء تكريت، ثم ولي تدريس النظامية ببغداد، وكان من كبار الشافعية في زمانه مع الصلاح والديانة والمراقبة، وتوفي عن خمس وثمانين سنة، سنة ست عشر وست مائة.
