يحيى بن إبراهيم بن أبي تراب محمد أبو تراب الكرخي اللوزي نسبة إلى محلة ببغداد يقال لها: اللوزية - الفقيه، تفقه على الإمام أبي الحسن محمد بن الخل، وروى عن أبي الفتح الكروخي جميع جامع الترمذي، وعن أبي الوقت جميع مسند الدارمي وحدث بهما، وروى جماعة من المشايخ وأقام بدمشق مدة، وأعاد عند العماد الكاتب، وروى عنه ابن الدبيثي، وابن خليل، والشهاب القوصي وابن نقطة، وذكر أنه أصاب اختلال في آخر عمره، وذكروا حكايات تدل على أنه أصابه خرف، وضعف عقل نوع من الماخوليا، فإنه توفي في شعبان سنة أربع عشرة وست مائة عن ثمان وثمانين سنة.
