علي بن علي بن أبي البركات هبة الله بن محمد بن علي بن أحمد البغداديقاضي القضاة بها، أبو طالب النجاري، تفقه على العلامة أبي القاسم يحيى بن فضلان، وسمع الحديث من أبي الوقت السجزي وغيره، خرج مع أبيه إلى بلاد الروم، وقد تولى أبوه قضاء بعض تلك النواحي، فلما مات تولى مكانه ثم عاد إلى بغداد بعد نحو عشرين سنة، فأكرم مورده، وولى قضاء القضاة، ونيابة الوزارات وذلك سنة ثنتين وثمانين وخمس مائة، ثم عزل عنهما، ثم أعيد إلى القضاء وحده سنة تسع وثمانين، وتوفي في جمادى الآخرة سنة ثلاث وتسعين وخمس مائة عن خمس وخمسين سنة ﵀.
