محمد بن عبد الواحد بن العدل أبي غالب محمد بن علي الفقيه ابن جعفر ابن الصباغ البغدادي الشافعي تفقه على سعيد ابن الرزاز، وولي قضاء حريم دار الخلافة، فلمتحمد سيرته، فعزل وناب في التدريس بالنظامية، وقد سمع الحديث من أبي السعادات بن المتوكل، وأبي القاسم بن الحصبي، وأجاز له ابن بيان الرزاز، وعنه سعيد بن هبة الله، وعمر بن علي القرشي وغيرهما، توفي سنة خمس وثمانين وخمس مائة عن سبع وسبعين سنة.
