علي بن أبي المكارم بن فتيان أبو القاسم الدمشقي الشافعي أحد الأعيان بمصر، قال الشيخ محيي الدين فيما ألحقه من التراجم على طبقات ابن الصلاح: تفقه على الإمام أبي المحاسن يوسف بن عبد الله الدمشقي مدرس النظامية ببغداد، وأعاد عنده وله معرفة بفنون، وتوفي في سنة تسع وسبعين وخمس مائة.
