محمد بن علي بن المسلم بن محمد بن علي بن الفتح أبو بكر بن جمال الإسلام السلمي الدمشقي خطيبها ومدرس الأمينية بعد أبيه، تفقه على أبيه وسمع منه الحديث، ومن هبة الله بن الأكفاني، وابن الموازيني، وكتب وحصل ودرس ووعظ في حياة أبيه، ولما مات أبوه ولي تدريس الأمينية، ثم ولي خطابة البلد، وناب في القضاء عن الكمال السهروردي، وكان حسن الأخلاق قليل التصنع، روى عنه الحسين بن صصرى، والقاسم ابن عساكر وغيرهما. وتوفي في شوال سنة أربع وستين وخمس مائة ﵀.
