    الحسين بن مفرج بن حاتم الواعظ أبو علي المقدسي أحد فقهاء الشافعية بالثغور، وهو عم والد الحافظ علي بن فضل، وقد ذكره في الوفيات، فقال: روى عن القاضي الرشيد المقدسي، وعنه أبي، وابنه أبو عبد الله بن الحسين، والسلفي، وأبو محمد العثماني، وتوفي في شعبان سنة خمس وثلاثين وخمس مائة.
