محمد بن محمد بن علي الخزيمي أبو الفتح الفراوي نزيل الري قال أبو سعد السمعاني: كان حسن الوعظ، مليح الإيراد، حلو المنطق، خفيف الروح، لطيف العبارة، حسن الإشارة، دخل بغداد سنة تسع وخمس مائة، وعقد له مجلس الحديث والوعظ وأملى عدة مجالس، وحدث عن أبي القاسم القشيري وجماعات، وروى عنه جماعة من البغداديين وغيرهم، وأنشد له: إذا كنت ترضى من التمني بالتقى ... فإن التمني بابه غير مغلق وما ينفع التحقيق بالقول في التقى ... إذا كان بالأفعال غير محقق ، قال: وتوفي بالري سنة أربع عشرة وخمس مائة، وقبره عند قبر إبراهيم الخواص.
