محمد بن علي بن محمد بن شهفيروز الفقيه أبو جعفر اللارزي الطبري الشافعي سمع ببلدة آمل طبرستان من أبي المحاسن الروياني، وبنيسابور من علي بن أبي صادق الحيري والشيروي، وبأصبهان من أبي علي الحداد، وسمع ببغداد ومكة، وسمع الكثير، وحدث عنه جماعة منهم يحيى بن بوش، ووقف كتبه بالمدرسة النظامية، وتوفي في محرم سنة ثماني عشرة وخمس مائة.
