طاهر بن سعيد بن فضل الله أبو الفتح بن أبي طاهر ابن الشيخ أبي سعيد بن أبي الخير الميهني سمع الحديث من جده أبي سعيد بن أبي الخير الميهني وجماعة، وحدث عنه أبو الفتيان الرؤاسي الحافظ، وغيره. قال ابن الصلاح: كان من أهل الخير والصلاح ومن بيت التصوف ذا قدم ثابت فيه، وكان مقدم بيته في عصره، حسن السيرة عارفًا بالمقامات والأحوال، ملازمًا لاستعمالها، لقي الشيوخ وسافر الكثير، وأقام ببغداد مدة يطلب الحديث ثم عاد إلى خراسان، ولازم المحافظة على وظائف العبادات، وكان أكثر مقامه بنيسابور، وضعف بصره في آخر عمره، وتوفي سنة ثنتين وخمس مائة ﵀.
