محمد بن محمد بن محمش بن علي بن داود بن أيوب بن محمد الفقيه أبو طاهر الزيادي الأديب الشافعيكان إمام أصحاب الحديث، وفقيههم، ومفتيهم بلا مدافعة بنيسابور، وكان إماما في علم الشروط، وصنف فيه كتابا، وله معرفة جيدة قوية بالعربية، روى عن: أبي العباس الأصم، وأبي حامد بن بلال، ومحمد بن الحسين القطان، وجماعة، وعنه: الحاكم، وأثنى عليه، ومات قبله، والبيهقي، والقشيري، وخلق، ولد سنة سبع عشرة وثلاث مائة، ومات في شعبان سنة عشر وأربع مائة، ومن مفرداته، أنه يجوز للذمي إحياء الموات في دار الإسلام بإذن الإمام، قال النواوي: وقال الجمهور: لا يجوز كما لا يجوز بغير إذنه بالاتفاق.
