علي بن محمد بن عمر بن العباس أبو الحسن الرازي القصار الفقيه الشافعي قال الحافظ أبو يعلى الخليلي: هو أفضل من لقيناه بالري، وكان مفتيها قريبا من ستين سنة، روى عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي حاتم فأكثر عنه، وأبي معاوية الكاغدي، وأحمد بن خلد الحروري، ومحمد بن قارب، ولقي بآخره شيوخ بغداد: ابن السماك، والنجار، وكان عالما له في كل علم حظ، وبلغ قريبا من مائة سنة، سمعت عبد الله بن محمد الحافظ، يقول: لم يعش أحد من الشافعية، ما عاش هذا، وكان عالما بالفتاوى والنظر، وروى عنه: هبة الله اللالكائي، وعبد الجبار بن عبد الله بن برزة الرازي، وجماعة، يقال: إنه توفي في حدود الأربع مائة.
