أحمد بن بشر بن عامر أبو حاتم المروروذي نسبة إلى مرو الروذ، ويخفف فيقال: المروذي، نزيل البصرة، أحد أئمة الشافعية، أخذ عن الشيخ: أبي إسحاق المروزي، وشرح المزني، وصنف الجامع في المذهب وفي الأصول، وغير ذلك. وكان إماما لا يشق غباره، وعنه أخذ فقهاء البصرة، مات سنة ثنتين وستين وثلاث مائة، هكذا ترجمه الشيخ أبو إسحاق في الطبقات، ولكنه قال: أحمد بن علي بن عامر بن بشر، ووهمه الشيخ أبو عمرو بن الصلاح في ذلك، وقال: إنما هو أحمد بن بشر بن عامر، وكذا صوب عليه شيخنا أبو عبد الله الذهبي في تاريخه، ولله الحمد والمنة.
