الحسين ابن القاضي أبي زرعة محمد بن عثمان المتقدم ذكره أبو عبد الله الدمشقي، قاضيها وابن قاضيها، ولي قضاء الديار المصرية مع البلاد الشامية، ثم كثرت نوابه، وكان يأتيه بمصر الإمام أبو بكر بن الحداد , وكان القاضي أبو عبد الله هذا كبير القدر، معظما نفسه، بسيف، ومنطقة، وله سماط كل يوم يغرم عليه في الشهر أربع مائة دينار، وكان عارفا بالقضاء متقدما، وكان كريما جوادا كأبيه، ولم تطل أيامه، ومات كهلا ابن ثلاث وأربعين سنة، قال الحافظ ابن عساكر: توفي يوم عيد الأضحى سنة سبع وعشرين وثلاث مائة.
