الحسن بن الحسين القاضي أبو علي بن أبي هريرة البغدادي أحد أئمة الشافعية، من أصحاب الوجوه، تفقه بأبي العباس بن سريج، والشيخ أبي إسحاق المروزي، وصنف شرح المزني، وعلق على الشرح أبو علي الطبري، وروى عنه: الحافظ أبو الحسن الدارقطني، وغيره، اختصر الخطيب البغدادي ترجمته في التاريخ جدا، ولم يزد على هذا، مات سنة خمس وأربعين وثلاث مائة. وقال الشيخ أبو إسحاق: ومنهم: القاضي أبو علي بن أبي هريرة البغدادي، درس علي أبي العباس بن سريج، ثم علي أبي إسحاق، وشرح المزني، وعلق على الشرح أبو علي الطبري، ودرس ببغداد، ومات سنة خمس وأربعين وثلاث مائة.
