٣٨٧٩ - يحيى بن معين بن عون الغطفاني، أبو زكريا البغدادي. • قال السُّلَمِيُّ: قال الدَّارَقُطْنِيّ: مات يحيى بن معين قبل ابنه بعشرة أشهر. (٣٧٥) . وقال يحيى بن معين، هو ابن عون بن زياد، بغدادي. (٣٨٤) . وقال حدثنا عبد الله بن يحيى الطلحي، حدثنا الحسن بن حُبَاش، سَمِعْتُ عبد اللهِ بن الحكم القطواني يقول سَمِعْتُ أبا عبيد القاسم بن سلام يقول انتهى علم الناس إلى أربعة أحمد بن حنبل، ويحيى بن معين، وأبو بكر بن أبي شيبة، وعلي بن المديني، فأما أحمد بن حنبل فكان أفقههم، وأما يحيى فكان أجمعهم له، وأما أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة فكان أحفظهم له، وأما علي فكان أعرفهم به. (٣٨٨) .
